June Andreoli honored as Resident of ManorCare

KINGSFORD — ManorCare Health Services of Kingsford has selected June Andreoli as the Resident of the Month for May.

June Helen Brazeau was born on June 20, 1914, in Coleman, Wis., to George and Sophia (Porier) Brazeau. She was the fifth child of seven, having four brothers and two sisters. The family heritage is French Canadian.

June attended school in a one room school house located in the Spruce, Wis., farming community. After graduation June moved with her family to the Kingsford area in the late 1920s. As many young people did back in the early days, she went to work to help out the family. She worked at the old Freeman Convalescent Home in Iron Mountain.

June married John G. Canavera, son of Mr. and Mrs. Luigi Canavera, on Dec. 2, 1939, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norway. The couple had two sons, Jerome who died at birth in 1942, and Larry (Marybeth) of Kingsford.
