KINGSFORD — The rain-delayed U.P. Open Adult Tennis Tournament may resume Saturday, Aug. 9. “That’s a tentative make-up date for doubles,” said tournament director Mark Shanks. “Any new players will be welcome to participate.” Forty players participated last Saturday in singles, with four of the eight divisions decided before weather postponed play. Foul weather canceled Sunday’s doubles. “All proceeds go back into local tennis activities and materials,” Shanks said. Singles finals results follow: MEN’S A — Andy Girard vs. Brett Girard. Consolation — Jeno Cederna vs. Derek Harrington. MEN’S B — Ed Adiska, Escanaba, def. Tyler Delvaux 6-1, 6-3. Consolation — Francis Farmer, Wallace, def. Andy Perla 6-0, 6-2. MEN’S AGE 40-OLDER — David Guillard, Newberry, def. Mark LeClaire 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. MEN’S AGE 50-OLDER — Rich Junak, Iron River, def. Ron Lewandowski 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). WOMEN’S SINGLES — Abby Tresedder vs. Jenna O’Dell. Consolation — Melissa Perla vs. Ariel Bloniarz.
