Kiwanis:Ski meeting IRON MOUNTAIN — Kiwanis Ski Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Pine Mountain clubhouse. Elks Hoop Shoot Six area youngsters have qualified for the Elks Hoop Shoot district competition Saturday, Dec. 12, in Ishpeming. Boys and girls advanced from the local competition this month at Iron Mountain Central Elementary gymnasium. Gary Cahee, director of the Elks Lodge No. 700 Hoop Shoot, congratulated the participants and expressed appreciation to the volunteers who assisted with organizing the registration and shooting. “Special thanks to the parents who support their children’s participation in this endeavor,” Cahee said. District qualifiers, are Tori Kowalkowski, age 8-9; Brandon Kowalkowski, age 10-11; Maria Wiltzius, age 12-13; Brooklyn Wolosyn, age 10-11; Tyler Beauchamp, age 8-9, and Mark Beauchamp, age 12-13.
