Ralston celebration Saturday
NORWAY — Norway will celebrate hometown hero John “Jack” Ralston with a full day of activities on Saturday at the Jake Menghini Museum on O’Dill Road. The Norway City Council proclaimed Saturday to be “Jack Ralston Day”at a recent meeting. Refreshments and food will be available all day. Patrons will be able to tour the museum and view the featured exhibit of Ralston’s memorabilia from his football coaching career. Among the artifacts displayed will be his Rose Bowl awards and pictures. At noon, the City Band will perform a concert on the museum grounds. Ralston has requested to meet with area youth at 2 p.m., but he will be available throughout the afternoon to visit with friends and well-wishers. At 5:30 p.m., Ralston will be transported by carriage from the AmericInn through the streets of Norway to the Rialto where a reception and dinner will take place.
