Track Bratz Bout

March 26, 2012 - Theresa Proudfit
If you're a Kingsford Krush roller derby fan you're gonna love this. Junior derby has arrived in town. Yup, that's right, little derby girls are tearing up the track.

The The Kingsford Track Bratz Junior Roller Derby Club is holding their first official bout in Iron Mountain this weekend. The Track Bratz have been practicing since January of 2012 and are more than ready to demonstrate their mad derby skills this weekend. These junior girls ages 7 to 17 are skating around with amazing speed and talent.

As a senior derby girl I am thrilled. I can't believe how fast and furious these little ladies are. After having been roped into being a referee for this weekends bout I practiced with the girls on Sunday. I was super impressed and very excited for the future of roller derby in our area. Some of these girls are already faster than I am. Not to mention the endurance and skills they posses.

The event takes place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the former Goodwill building in Iron Mountain. Pre-sale tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased from any junior derby girl. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $8.00. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. Bring your own chair because seating is limited.

This is gonna be an excellent show. My two nieces Savahnna "Blueberry Snap" Peterson and Victoria "Little Bomb Slammer" Peterson as well as my fiance's daughter Hannah "Banana Peeler" Proudfit have been practicing their moves and will surely make me proud this weekend. Come check out the show on Saturday. You will be in awe of what the Bratz can do.
