Middle Class America
March 20, 2012 - Blaine Hyska
You have to wonder if the president really wants to help Middle Class America.
Obama sure talks a good game, (on just about anything) but when a member of his own leadership team says Americans should be spending as much for gasoline as Europe, I’m suspicious.
Obama’s hand-picked Energy Department Secretary Steven Chu, the guy who sets the nation’s energy policy, has said that Americans should be paying more for fuel, somewhere in the neighborhood of $9 or $10 a gallon.
The rationale is if you and I are forced to pay enough, we’ll use less. That’s the essence of Chu’s energy policy. Jack up the price and we’ll all conserve. Thanks, Mr. President.
Chu also claims electric cars are the way to go. Really. Where in his neighborhood is electricity free? Has he seen a We Energies bill lately?
Good thing Chu’s not with the Environmental Protection Agency. He’d have us paying for air.
I suppose, though, Bill Maher, and the president’s other $1 million contributors won’t mind. They’ve got money to burn.
It’s pathetic when the “hope and change” president turns out to be nothing more than a pitchman for Hollywood burnouts.
