I'm not one for inspirational stories. I read one, I scoff, I roll my eyes. I'm a perpetual eye-roller.
...the inspirational story involves cats.
I regularly read blog updates for Tabby's Place, a cat sanctuary in New Jersey. The sanctuary prides itself on helping cats in hopeless situations, including disease, deformity, abandonment, etc., etc. Not even the inability to walk excludes a cat from Tabby's Place. In fact, some of Tabby's Place's most endearing residents have been the paraplegics — Bagheera, Tashi, Gabrielle, and now little Dot.
The recent news of Tashi and Gabrielle's adoption, and the open slot it created for Dot's admission to the sanctuary, is the inspirational story I was referring to. Seriously, it had this perpetual eye-roller bawling like a baby.
I've included the links to the story (and to an unrelated but adorable video of Tashi) on the right side of this page. Warning: Read at your own risk. You will be exposed to near-fatal levels of cuteness.
