Awards show time

January 26, 2012 - Blaine Hyska
OK, folks, it’s awards show time. It’s Hollywood in love with Hollywood, a love-fest of tuxedos and evening gowns.

Red carpet. Who cares? These people are actors — they’re told what to say and how to say it. Big deal.

It seems I’m not alone in being fed up with watching the ultra rich worry about how they look.

Ratings NBC's Golden Globe Awards were down this year. CBS' People's Choice Awards had their lowest turnout except for the 2008 strike year. And VH1's Critics' Choice Movie Awards ratings are always dismal.

When will these celebrities learn?

Mainstream America does not care to watch “stars” with trophies gushing “thank you’s” to people we don’t know, or care to know.

You want real stars? Check out a local high school sports event, music concert, or drama presentation. That’s worth watching.
