February 22, 2011 - Terri Castelaz
Looking to donate your time. Animals at the Spring Lake Animal Shelter in Iron Mountain need your help. Volunteers are needed to help with cleaning kennels and cat cages, and also walk and visit the dogs. The Shelter is open seven days a week and open at 11 a.m. Cleaning starts at 8:30 a.m. each day. Persons can sign up for once day a week, once month or as many days as your can. They appreciate any time you can give to help these animals. The Shelter is always in need of several items including, cat litter, Kitten Chow, dry adult cat food, canned cat food, paper toweling, bleach, Pine Sol, liquid dish soup, dry dog food, dog toys (no cloth or ropes please), waterless hand soap, toilet paper, blue ink pens, computer paper, HP ink jet print cartridges #56 black and #28 color and monetary donations. Any of the above items would greatly be appreciated at the shelter. I also would like to encouraged anyone looking for a new pet to visit the shelter and see all the possible new friends waiting to be adopted. The Shelter is located on M-95 in Iron Mountain. Anyone wishing to volunteer or have any questions can call the shelter at 774-1005.
