Grayling's McClanahan foiled Flivvers

November 7, 2013 - Burt Angeli
Grayling senior receiver Tyler McClanahan is one reason why Kingsford won’t be in Menominee for a Division 5 football district final.

McClanahan caught 10 passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns as the Vikings outscored the Flivvers 42-25 in the pre-district. McClanahan re-set the single-season Grayling receiving record with his performance.

“When they doubled Tyler (McClanahan) and put six in the box, the run was there and that’s what we did,” Grayling Coach Tim Sanchez told Daily News correspondent Mike Dunn. “When they put seven in the box and left Tyler in single coverage, Jake put the ball in Tyler’s hands.”

In addition to his receiving yards, McClanahan tallied 10 tackles and one interception inside the 5-yard line to halt the Flivvers’ first drive of the game.

Another item, Grayling’s seniors have not lost at home in three years.
