Hurley moves on

August 31, 2013 - Burt Angeli
Hurley didn’t want to lose Florence for its high school football season opener.

"Disappointing, no question to give up a home game," Hurley Coach Scott Erickson told The Daily Globe. "But you can't control what's happening in other places. We pick up and move on."

Hurley replaced Florence with Boscobel, which had its losing streak extended to 23 games by the Midgets (34-0).

Hurley, with six three-year starters, likes the thought of facing Forest Park at home this season. The Midgets are after a fourth straight Great Western Conference title. The Bobcats, citing a week one player shortage, backed out of the Hurley game.
