Go Cubs

June 18, 2013 - Ron Deuter
The Washington Nationals traded pitcher Henry Rodriguez to the Cubs last week because he wasn’t developing the way they thought he would. Control was his biggest problem. Making his Cubs debut Monday night in St. Louis, Rodriguez sent a 99-mph fastball into the home plate umpire’s shin and followed by plunking Cardinals’ batter Carlos Beltran on the very next pitch. The Cubs lost 5-2. This, a day after closer Carlos Marmol blew a 3-0 lead in the ninth to the Mets.
