Eating nutritious is way too expensive

May 31, 2013 - Chris Tomassucci
This morning I went for my usual 75ยข Friday morning breakfast, a roll of mini chocolate doughnuts from the gas station (terrible for me, I know, but tasty). Then I saw a more nutritious option on the shelf nearby, a peanut butter and dark chocolate protein bar.

It was all natural, gluten and wheat free, had 3 grams of fiber and 7 grams of protein, no trans fats, low sodium, etc.

So I decided to start the day off right and go for the nutritious option. I grabbed the bar and gave it to the cashier to ring up . . . $2.50. For the one bar, $2.50!

I could have purchased 3 rolls of mini chocolate doughnuts for that much.
