Parents doing push-ups

Trying to deal with parents who heckle opposing players or referees at youth games, the Vancouver, British Columbia park board discussed a motion this week advising city staff to come up with a code of conduct outlying appropriate behavior for parents at kids sporting events. The commissioner who brought the issue forward included punishments such as 100 push-ups or lugging oranges to the next game in the motion in order to bring attention to the bullying in a humorous way. The motion, with the punishments included, passed by a 3-2 margin.
