Lions like Packers' draft thinking
February 18, 2013 - Burt Angeli
Bill Ford, vice chairman of the Detroit Lions, likes the way Green Bay utilizes draft picks.
"If you look at Green Bay, they've drafted very well and they play pretty much all of them,” Ford told detroitlions.com. “They're not afraid to play them and, as a result, they're one of the youngest teams — if not the youngest team — in the league. I think that's, again, a function of today's salary cap. You pay your stars and you play your young people.'
Peter King of Sports Illustrated says the “Lions have to draft better, and that was driven home with the recent release of the 2011 second-round receiver Titus Young, who, in case you missed it, is God's gift to football. You can't go wasting second-round picks in a division with the Packers, Bears and Vikings.”
