| | Missing out on award-winning TVJanuary 14, 2013 - Nikki YounkI’m feeling guilty. After reading 2012 “best of” lists and hearing about the recent Golden Globe winners, it is clear that I’m missing out on some top-notch television shows. According to some, 2012 was THE best year for television EVER. Do you like gritty dramas? Check out “Breaking Bad” or “Homeland.” Comedies? Try “Girls” or “Parks and Recreation.” Period pieces? Go for “Mad Men” or “Downton Abbey.” Epic fantasy? Sample “Game of Thrones.” Unfortunately for me, I spent most of my 2012 TV-viewing time watching game show reruns on GSN or cheesy sci-fi movies on Netflix. I know, I have questionable taste. It’s not that the good shows don’t seem interesting. I think I’m just lazy. Committing to an entire season (or more) of just one of those programs just sounds extremely daunting to me. Maybe I can get a good New Year’s resolution from this. I resolve to catch up on quality TV from 2012 and to watch new quality TV in 2013? Sounds easier than exercising. | in: News, Blogs & Events Web |
