Christmas is almost here and you know what that means. Yup. Meat pie — French pork pies that my mom makes from a recipe she learned from my dad’s mom years ago. My mom’s recipe calls for ground pork seasoned with bay leaves, cloves and sage. I don’t know the exact recipe, but they have become a Christmas eve tradition — one pie for each family. We kind of broke tradition this year and already had some meat pie for supper. She made some early for my brother and sister-in-law to take with them downstate. But that’s one tradition I wouldn’t mind continuing.
