As a kid I was a big fan of the TV show MacGyver, starring Richard Dean Anderson as the show’s clever and always crafty main character. I remember it airing on Monday nights, as a lead in to Monday Night Football on ABC.
An hour of MacGyver followed by a Bears game. Could you ask for a better way to avoid doing homework?
Recently, I came across reruns of this classic show on a channel called Cloo. I have Dish Network, and I think it’s channel 197 or 198 on there. Each Monday for the past few weeks, this channel has been running all-day marathons of MacGyver. I’m not sure how long this will last, but it sure does bring back memories.
The show sure seems dated now, especially when it comes to the "high-tech" stuff used in the show, but it’s still fun to watch Mac work his way out of impending doom with nothing more than a stick of gum, maybe some duct tape and, of course, his trusty Swiss Army knife — and always with a different gal at his side.
