Talking cakes

Michigan has come up with a unique way to keep drunk men off the road. Talking urinal-deodorizer cakes have been distributed to Michigan Licensed Beverage Association members in Wayne County, including Detroit, state officials announced. A recorded message will play reminding men who step up to the urinals to call a cab or a friend, if needed, to get home safely. Bay, Ottawa and Delta counties also are getting them. Knowing some men who frequent bars, I can imagine what they will be thinking if they encounter these talking cakes. Man steps up the uninal, preceeds to do his business, talking ensues. Drunk man looks around confused. “Where’s that talking coming from? Who’s in here? Not sure if they will help deter drunk driving, but they might be as amusing as a trick cue ball on a pool table.
