Jason Tibbs
IRON MOUNTAIN — Jason Paul Tibbs, 37, of Iron Mountain, passed away Sept. 22, 2017, in Chapel Hill, N.C.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1979, in Norway, the son of George Tibbs Jr. of Manitowoc, Wis., and Debra (Ed) Biddick of Norway.
Jason graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1999.
He enjoyed life and music, and was a hard worker. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed learning to kayak. He also enjoyed watching movies, playing games, and spending time gaming with his boys. Jason loved his children and especially enjoyed spending time with them.
Jason is survived by his children, Jason ‘Tyler’ Rain Tibbs, Kameron Tibbs and Ana (Tibbs) Newman; mother and step-father, Debra and Edward Biddick; father, George Tibbs Jr.; sisters, Jessica Tibbs of Iron Mountain and Jamie Tibbs of Quinnesec; paternal grandfather, George Tibbs Sr. of Missouri; aunts, Carmen Tibbs of Germany and Tracy Powers of Charlotte, N.C.; one nephew; and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his son, Austin Rain Tibbs; maternal grandparents, Frank and Marion Bednarz; and paternal grandmother, Nellie O’Neil.
Jason loved people, and with the giving heart that he had, he was also loved. He gave of himself through the gift of life as an organ donor, touching four lives.
He is no longer with us, but will be greatly missed. But we have the value of knowing ‘his heart beats on.’
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.
