MARQUETTE — Authorities have yet to identify a body recovered from Lake Superior on Sunday, the Marquette Police Department reported.

The body, a male, was found about 1:26 p.m. northwest of Partridge Island, in an area that earlier had been searched for a 40-year-old kayaker who went missing July 21, officials said. Brett Russell Harriman’s kayak was located that same day about a half-mile north of Partridge Island.

Officers with MPD and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office had the body transported to UP Health System-Marquette.

Further information will be released once an identity is confirmed, the Marquette Police Department stated.
