Car fire reported

IRON MOUNTAIN — A car fire Sunday resulted in major damage to the vehicle and minor damage to the exterior of a home at 718 Margaret St. in Iron Mountain, Iron Mountain firefighters said.

A neighbor alerted occupants about 9:29 a.m. that the car in their driveway was on fire. Firefighters determined the fire started in the engine compartment and then ignited the siding on the home.

The blaze didn’t damage the interior of the residence, and no one was hurt, firefighters said.

They returned to the station at 10:20 a.m.
