CRYSTAL FALLS — The trial for murder suspect Kelly Cochran was set to start today with jury selection in Iron County Trial Court.
Cochran, 34, is accused of helping her now-deceased husband, Jason Cochran, kill and hide the remains of 53-year-old Christopher Regan of Iron River in October 2014.
Cochran faces charges of homicide-open murder, a life felony; conspiracy to commit dead bodies-disinterment and mutilation, a 10-year felony; concealing the death of an individual, a five-year felony; accessory after the fact to a felony, a five-year felony; larceny in a building, a four-year felony; and lying to a peace officer-violent crime investigation, a four-year felony.
She claimed, in various police interviews cited in court documents, she was coerced and intimidated by her husband into luring Regan to their Caspian home Oct. 14, 2014, where Jason Cochran reportedly fatally shot Regan in the back of the head.
